Saliva DNA Collection Kit

These Saliva DNA Collection and Preservation Devices are designed for 1) simple, non-invasive saliva collection and 2) preservation of DNA in saliva samples at ambient temperature. Each set of 50 devices includes three components: (1) a Saliva Collection Funnel and Collection Tube, (2) a Collection Tube Cap, and (3) a Saliva DNA Preservative contained within a sealed squeezable ampoule.

Saliva samples are collected by spitting into the Collection Funnel, which is attached to the Collection Tube. Once the required saliva volume is collected, the funnel is removed, and the preservative from the ampoule is added and mixed with the saliva. The Collection Tube is then sent to the laboratory for DNA isolation and analysis.

DNA can be extracted from preserved saliva samples using compatible saliva DNA isolation kits or other standard methods. Each Collection Tube is labeled with a unique serial number, allowing secure and anonymous tracking of the sample.

Preserved saliva DNA remains stable for over two years at room temperature. This kit is ideal for collecting and preserving DNA samples for epidemiological and population-based studies.
